For 28 years, I worked in the healthcare industry alongside companies developing technologies that improved — and saved — lives. My career was built on one belief:
Innovation should serve people in meaningful ways.
After that chapter, I stepped back and traveled internationally. Everywhere I went, I was asked the same question:
“Is the United States safe?”
The rise in public violence had shifted global perception. That question stayed with me — not as a headline, but as a responsibility I couldn’t ignore.
I realized something important.
People didn’t want tactical gear.
They didn’t want heavy vests.
They didn’t want to feel like they were preparing for battle.
They wanted confidence.
They wanted protection that didn’t change how they lived, worked, or showed up in the world.

Our family is made up of criminal justice and military and education professionals. Our plan is to outfit all the children in the family with these backpacks from preK to college. As a teacher, I wish school systems would contract with this company to supply school students with these, or to have in classrooms. This company was just awesome.
