Bulletproof Vests — NIJ Level IIIA Protection That Looks Like Everyday Wear

Innocent Armor bulletproof vests are built for civilians who want real protection without looking tactical. Each vest carries NIJ Level IIIA ShieldTec® armor panels that stop 9mm, .357 and .44 Magnum handgun rounds, hidden inside a vest you can wear to work, on the road or around town.

Which vest is right for you?

  • Soft-Shell Bulletproof Vest: a 4-way stretch, weather-resistant vest that looks like everyday outerwear. Wear it over a shirt or layer it under a jacket. Made in the USA with American-made armor panels.
  • Concealable Bulletproof Vest: a low-profile vest with adjustable straps, made to be worn hidden under a shirt, uniform or business attire, with front, back and side coverage.

Both vests use removable ShieldTec® panels, so the vest can be washed. Both are backed by 35+ independent field ballistic tests and a 5-year warranty on the ballistic panels.

Discreet protection, not tactical gear

Most bulletproof vests are made for police and security work, and they look it. Ours are designed to blend in. Not sure how to wear one without it showing? Read how to conceal a bulletproof vest. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I legally own a bulletproof vest?
Yes. Federal law allows most adult civilians to buy and own body armor. Some states limit how body armor can be bought or worn, and people with certain felony convictions can't own it. See our guide: Is bulletproof clothing legal?

Can civilians buy bulletproof vests?
Yes, civilians in the vast majority of U.S. states can legally buy bulletproof vests for personal protection. We're unable to ship to New York or Connecticut due to state-specific restrictions.

Can a bulletproof vest stop a rifle round?
No. NIJ Level IIIA soft armor is designed for handgun threats. It isn't rated for rifle rounds such as 5.56 or 7.62. That takes hard armor plates, which are built for tactical use, not everyday wear.
