Innocent Armor Selected for Feature on Advancements TV with Ted Danson

Exploring Innovations in Discreet Bulletproof Clothing.

Exploring Breakthroughs in Discreet Bulletproof Apparel

Learn how emerging innovations in protective clothing are helping bring security into everyday style.

In a previously planned segment for the educational television series Advancements with Ted Danson, Innocent Armor was selected to be highlighted for its progress in discreet, NIJ-certified bullet-resistant clothing. The series, known for exploring cutting-edge technologies and real-world innovations, had expressed interest in showcasing how Innocent Armor blends protection with modern, wearable design.

The planned feature aimed to spotlight the development of Innocent Armor’s soft armor panels, ShieldTec® technology, and everyday clothing designed for real-world use—offering protection without drawing unwanted attention. The series also intended to explore how innovations in materials and fit systems help armor adapt naturally to the body for comfort and concealability.

“We’ve always believed that protective apparel should be discreet, comfortable, and accessible,” said Mike Wang, Co-Founder. “Our focus has been to create everyday clothing that provides an additional layer of safety without compromising the way people look or live.”

All Innocent Armor apparel utilizes NIJ Standard–tested, soft ballistic materials engineered to meet or exceed the performance levels used by many law-enforcement agencies. Each garment is designed to remain lightweight and flexible while offering reliable protection from most handgun threats.

Yes. All ballistic panels are certified at NIJ-certified laboratories and tested to meet NIJ Level IIIA standards.

In addition to formal NIJ testing, we have over 34 independent field tests conducted by former law enforcement, military personnel, and industry professionals. These real-world tests include handgun impacts, angle shots, movement scenarios, and durability assessments — all publicly available for transparency.

Our soft armor is NIJ Level IIIA certified, the highest protection rating for soft body armor. Level IIIA is tested to stop most handgun rounds, including high-velocity threats such as:

    •    9mm

    •    .357 Magnum

    •    .357 SIG

    •    .44 Magnum

Additional details:

    •    Level IIIA is the same protection level commonly used by law enforcement.

    •    It is designed for concealable, everyday-wear armor.

    •    Soft armor does not stop rifle fire.

For rifle protection, a hard armor plate (Level III or Level IV) is required.

Body armor sales cannot be shipped to residents of:

    •    New York

    •    Connecticut

We also cannot ship internationally unless the customer meets all export regulations.

If you are an international customer, please email us before placing an order.
